d) Temperature Resistance: PVC has a wide temperature range of use, maintaining its properties between -10C to 60C (14F to 140F). HDPE has a similar temperature resistance, while LDPE has a lower range of approximately -50C to 80C (-58F to 176F).

e) Recyclability: HDPE has excellent recyclability, making it one of the most recycled plastics globally. PVC can also be recycled but presents some challenges due to the presence of additives. LDPE, although recyclable, is less commonly recycled compared to HDPE and PVC.

5. Applications and Limitations

The specific properties of PVC, LDPE, and HDPE dictate their applications and limitations. PVC finds extensive use in construction, electrical, and plumbing industries. However, it may release harmful gases when burned.

LDPE's flexibility and transparency make it ideal for packaging materials, bags, and films. Nevertheless, LDPE has a relatively lower heat resistance compared to PVC and HDPE, limiting its use in certain applications.

HDPE's toughness, resistance to chemicals, and recyclability make it valuable for packaging, containers, and various outdoor products. However, HDPE has lower chemical resistance compared to PVC and can be challenging to glue or bond.
