Gram weight: Gram weight: refers to the weight in grams of one square meter of fabric. Woven tarpaulin fabrics use 'ounces', 'an' or 'OZ'. Knitted tarpaulins generally use gram weight (g/m2). Its conversion is 1 ounce is equal to 28.375 grams, but it is generally 28.35 grams on a weighing machine, depending on the yarn count. It is related to the warp and weft density of the fabric. The thicker the yarn, the thicker the cloth and the greater the gram weight.
