The welding method of pvc hard board is generally considered that thermoplastic welding is irreversible. A few processes such as induction welding can produce reversible assemblies. As to which method to choose should be made at the beginning of the part, because the welding method may be important to the requirements of the part design, and different welding methods have the same difference.
Hot gas welding technology is usually used to weld plastic pipes, sheets or semi-finished products rather than injection molded parts. However, many thermoplastic molded parts, especially thermoplastic automobile discs, are repaired by hot-gas welding technology, and hot-gas welding is sometimes used to prepare plastic-like molded parts.
1. Hot plate welding
Hot plate welding (for flat parts) is a thermoplastic welding process in which the metal mold is heated by electricity to soften the surface of the connected plastic part. Applicable to almost all large or small thermoplastic parts. Especially suitable for welding soft semi-crystalline thermoplastics. Since different mold surface temperatures can be applied to two different thermoplastic materials, this process is most suitable for welding different materials. Hot plate welding can achieve high welding strength. But the cycle of this process may be relatively long, 15s for small parts, and several minutes for large parts.
2. Hot gas welding
Hot gas welding is a welding method that is widely used to connect thermoplastic profiles and sheets to produce large parts. It is suitable for the repair of smaller injection molded parts, thermoplastic parts and the manufacture of sample molded parts that require partial assembly. It is important to produce electrodes with the same polymer brand as the parts being welded
3. Extrusion welding
Extrusion welding is a welding method developed from hot gas welding. It is mainly used for automatic welding of large pvc hard board structure.
4. Bonding
Adhesives can be used to connect plastic parts of the same raw material polymer, generally used to join parts made of different materials. Connect thermosetting plastic parts to each other, or connect plastic parts to metal.
The advantages of adhesives include:
Beautiful, flexible design; uniform stress distribution; able to connect different materials; able to provide a tight seal of atmosphere, water and gas; soft adhesive can cushion vibration; can be used with thin and soft substrates; provide electrical insulation and heat Insulation.
Various limitations of adhesives: uncertain joint performance; permanent assembly; comprehensive chemical process; need for clean surfaces; no joint inspection; time to reach maximum strength.
Adhesive selection
The selection of the adhesive for a specific application depends on factors including: use environment, stress value, substrate surface chemistry, substrate rigidity, substrate thermal expansion coefficient, gap filling requirements and application method.
5. Solvent bonding
Solvent bonding is a method that can assemble certain thermoplastic parts, and is most commonly used on amorphous thermoplastic parts. Solvent bonding is a simple and relatively inexpensive method of sealing and assembling strong amorphous thermoplastic parts. The low viscosity of the solvent requires that the bonded parts should be unbent and molded with relatively tight tolerances.
