When it comes to tarpaulins, we have to mention tents, because the main components of tents are tarpaulins, and the quality of tarpaulins directly affects the quality of tents. The tent has always been relatively heavy, but in recent years, tent manufacturers have begun to work hard on the quality of the tent. Therefore, nylon 70D fabrics have gradually been replaced by light double-sided/single-sided silicon-coated fabrics It has been replaced, and now 40D30D20D15D and even 10D fabrics have appeared one after another. The diameter of the tent poles also gradually increased from the initial 11mm to 7.5mm. So tents are getting lighter and lighter, and this is marketed and affirmed. The double-sided silicon-coated fabric has also been widely used in the tent industry. At the beginning, the tent could not be pasted with adhesive strips. At this time, a German company (VAUDE) took the lead in developing the double-fusion adhesive strip of the silicon-coated fabric. Thus successfully made up for this defect and applied for a patent. And what are the advantages of lightweight? The big advantage of lightweight tents is that they can reduce the burden on the majority of outdoor enthusiasts. The use of double-sided silicon-coated tarpaulin fabrics has good tear resistance and high water-repellent coefficient; the disadvantage is that the electrostatic reaction is large and the cost is high. As for the pole, its basic function is to expand space and wind resistance. Although today's high-tech has well reflected the performance of the material of the lever, after all, the material also has its own bearing capacity. The tent poles below 8mm and carbon materials are still unreliable in terms of wind resistance. Therefore, for this piece, the lighter the better. When designing or using each product, the performance indicators of this product must be considered. The tarpaulin is of course no exception. The following are some of the main performance indicators of the tarpaulin. 1. Tensile strength: The tarpaulin must be subjected to various tensions when in use, such as tension when it is fixed: it must be subjected to additional forces such as wind, rain, and province during use. Despite these external forces, they are still required to maintain their original shape and not easily deformed. In particular, the tensile strength of large tents used as inflatable buildings is extremely important. Generally, the base fabric is made of high-strength polyester, vinylon and other long-fiber fabrics. It is waterproofed with vinyl chloride resin and chlorosulfonated polyethylene resin. The strength of the product is mainly determined by the strength of the fiber material and the density of the fabric. 2. Flame retardancy: The tarpaulins are required to have good flame retardancy from the properties of the materials used. Flame retardant can be obtained by selecting flame retardant fiber and flame retardant base fabric. It can also be achieved by adding flame retardant to the coating agent. The amount of flame retardant added is directly related to the flame retardant effect. 3. Air permeability: Considering the air permeability of tarpaulins, especially military tent fabrics, the factors affecting air permeability include base fabric organization, density, material, type of waterproof finishing agent, and resin adhesion. With the increase of resin adhesion, the air permeability of the tarpaulin decreased. Of course this depends on the finishing agent used. Generally, most of the tents with air permeability are made of cotton, vinylon, lacquer and other short fiber fabrics finished with paraffin or acrylic resin. 4. Elongation skin and dimensional stability: As a roof tent and a large tent, it is often used under tension. The elongation of the fabric should not be too large, and its dimensional stability is determined by the creep characteristics of the material. 5. Tear strength: The breakage of the tarpaulin is mainly caused by tearing, so the tear strength is an important indicator of the tarpaulin. The tear strength is related to whether the tarpaulin will break due to the action of flying foreign objects or expand to the surrounding after forming holes for some reasons, forming large structural cracks. So, when the tension is high. Both high tensile strength and high tear strength are required for the tarpaulin. 6. Water resistance: Water resistance is an important feature of tarpaulins. By dipping and finishing, the vinyl chloride fat is filled in the gaps of the fabric to form a coating film. If the resin adhesion amount per unit area exceeds a certain level, water resistance will not be a problem. If the coating film is thin, when it is bent, rubbed or worn on the surface, the coating film is easily broken, which may cause muddy water. In addition to the above performance requirements, the tarpaulin also requires excellent cold resistance, heat resistance, tarpaulin, creep resistance, repeated fatigue resistance, abrasion resistance and bending resistance.
