Reflection and Summary for Better Growth — Our Brazil Exhibition Wrap-Up

Market Review

After three busy days at the exhibition, we got straight to work reviewing the experience and reflecting on what we had learned.

This time in Brazil, our goal was not simply to find out how many customers we met. More importantly, we wanted to gain a fresh understanding of the current Brazilian market through face-to-face conversations with customers: What types of PVC products are currently in demand? Which specifications are customers more interested in? And when making purchasing decisions, which factors—quality, price, lead time, or product consistency—have the greatest influence on their final choice?

Every question raised by customers at the exhibition was giving us part of the answer.

Customer Insight

One customer, Jake, left a particularly strong impression on us.

After visiting our booth, Jake picked up a piece of PVC tarpaulin and carefully examined and touched the material several times. He showed a clear interest in its texture and details. Noticing his interest, we approached him and asked whether there was any particular product or specification he would like to learn more about.

He then asked a very specific question: Do you offer PVC tarpaulin with different colors on each side?

We immediately brought him a sample featuring different colors on both sides. As soon as he saw it, he pointed at the sample and said, “This is exactly what I’m looking for.”

The conversation then went further. In addition to the product itself, Jake asked whether we could provide relevant certificates and test reports. We shared the available documents with him one by one and further explained the product’s performance and our quality control practices.

During the conversation, Jake also showed us photos of some issues he had encountered with products he had purchased previously. We discussed these issues in detail based on his actual experience. In response to his questions, we explained how we identify, control, and improve similar issues during our production process, including the relevant quality control procedures and the measures we take to prevent or address such problems.

This conversation reminded us that customers are not simply looking for a product that is available. They are also concerned about whether the material will perform consistently in real-world applications and whether the manufacturer can provide clear and effective solutions when problems arise.

For us, these face-to-face conversations provide a more direct understanding of customers’ real experiences and feedback, which is valuable for continuously improving our products and services.

Market Feedback

There were many other meaningful conversations like this throughout the exhibition.

Some customers carefully examined our samples, repeatedly checking the thickness, softness, and surface finish. Others were more concerned about whether the material could meet their downstream processing and welding requirements. Some customers, meanwhile, focused directly on pricing, order quantities, and lead times.

Although their concerns varied, these different questions reflected differences in their product positioning, processing methods, and purchasing considerations.

These face-to-face conversations gave us a much clearer understanding of what customers truly care about. For us, these specific insights from the exhibition floor are more valuable than simply recording “how many customers we met” or “how many inquiries we received.” They also provide more practical guidance for our future product recommendations and market development.

And this is perhaps one of the most important things for us to reflect on after the exhibition.

A summary helps us understand what the market has shown us. Reflection helps us reconsider what more we can offer our customers.

Moving Forward

The market is constantly changing. After every exhibition, we need to carefully review the specifications and application requirements raised by customers, identify which products were frequently requested, understand which performance features customers truly care about, and assess whether our existing products and services can accurately meet those needs.

For a manufacturer, an exhibition is not simply an opportunity to “showcase products.” Every question raised by a customer—even a follow-up question about a specific parameter—can become a valuable starting point for us to gain a deeper understanding of the market.

This is something we will continue to think about and learn from.

The Brazil exhibition has come to a successful conclusion, and our journey continues. Next, we are heading to South Africa for our next exhibition. We look forward to meeting more customers, exchanging ideas, and discovering new possibilities together.

See you at the South Africa exhibition!
